Newbie. Almost ready to port :-)

Gerhard here. Currently a Windows user. Really wana make the port, but still have to decide to what distro. Any suggestions?

It's got to be a distro that has already got alot of software installed/on the disk, as my internet connection is really slow and costy. I'm thinking about putting on ArtistX 0.6 and Ubuntu Ultimate Gamer edition 2.0 or Debian 5.0.. Please help me out here:-)

I'd say go with the Ubuntu as its pretty user-friendly.
