new to linux/deciding
 

hi there,
new to this whole thing, i installed ubuntu on an old laptop for a bud and was really impressed how it installed and all and now deciding or not to put it on my current laptop (dell). is this the (ubuntu) the recomended for it? any help or information on this would be great.

Depends on how much you actually know about linux. For beginners, Ubuntu and OpenSUSE are well suited. For more advanced users..... nevermind, flamewar topic.

Dell is very Linux friendly no matter which distro you pick, look around there are alot of them.
