my intro

I'm not really new to Linux but it has been a few years since I've used it so I've forgotten much of what I used to know. The other day I was thinking back to my Linux days and figured I'd give it a shot again. I chose to install Redhat 9 after much debate (was going to go with gentoo but i figured to ease myself back in redhat would be the easiest). Hoping to eventually replace windows entirely (just need the time to figure stuff out again)

Welcome aboard! Gentoo isn't hard if you can read and type and not skip steps. You learn tons about Linux and their init system makes sense! If you do decide to try it, emerge links and mc after your system and other necessary files to start surfing while installing more stuff. I didn't even bother to reboot (I skipped a step and got away with it) after compiling the kernel, I just went ahead and emerged fluxbox and gkrellm for a gui and gui tools while I was chrooted.
