Looking for a external dial-up modem for Ubuntu
Hi, have been playing around with Ubuntu since version 6 point something. I live in Australia and have recently placed an order for the Ubuntu 8.10 DVD ( There must be more of Ubuntu on a DVD then what on a CD, I think). It has "Disc 1" on it, must be a Disc 2 but where?
As most know support for XP ends in six months or so and now is a good time to change over to Linux, but a lot of people only have dial-up, I’m one of them, and am looking for a USB external modem for my laptop as should be cheaper then a driver for my ACER Aspire 1640. I heard from somewhere that you have to use a modem with a green label on it, whatever that about! If you know of a USB external modem that will work well with Ubuntu then please let me know. Cheers and thank you. :newbie: |
Any external dial out modem will work with any Linux distribution.
