Long time Windows users, first time Linux user
 

Greetings...

I've been a Windows power user for over 18 years (started with the release Win 3.0 in May of '90) and am now for the first time, checking out Linux (Ubuntu 8.04). Looking forward to getting my hands dirty with OSS. I've already run into a few little noob user glitches and hope that LinuxQuestions.org will be be my "one stop shopping" for technical reference. (I do have to say that my very first impressions of Ubuntu are positive - especially the ease of initial installation. The only hardware issue I've run into so far was getting my MS bluetooth mouse to work and I found a solution to that very quickly.

Welcome to LQ :D Most of us have tried various distros during our years of use, so if you do find yourself itching to try other things, it's normal!
