Linux Rocks

Hello everyone and thank you "LinuxQuestions.org" for your service.

Since I have started using Linux 2 years ago, starting with Mandrake 10.1, it has become my OS of choice. Now I use FedoraCore and Slackware.

My goal is to master Unix/Linux.

Linux is awesome and so is the community that surrounds it.

<-- chanting in the background "Slackware!! Slackware!!" lol, I agree 100% with your last sentence, Soplin. Hello and welcome!

Slack

I also find Slackware to have the best installer. In all the computers I have installed it, including ones with the newer video cards etc... the OS worked.

FedoraCore, Mandriva and the rest have this annoyance that after all the long hours of installation, there may be no access to a terminal or the kernel may not boot to do some modifying to get the OS to work. However, at least I know there is work being done to get the problems fixed and that it may not cost another SP(x), Vista(x) to get the latest fixes.

That being said, I don't use Windows that much and I certainly do not or want to use Windows XP/Vista. I do use Windows 98 because it is more productive on slower computers than Linux, a weakness that even DSL doesn't match so far.

Linux Rocks!
