Post linux newbie, windows oldie, TV advertising and VOD systems

Hi,
we've recently migrated nearly all of our product offerings to Linux platforms; and i've recently been migrated to a sustaining engineering role for some of them.

I knew some BDS Unix about 25 years ago. Moved on to Windows and haven't thought about it since. Now I have to relearn it all over again, in conjunction with Windows inter-operation as well.
