just saying hi as a newbie linux user

just popped in to say hi and to hopefully start learning ...
this is my first install of anything linux related (fedora) and it appears to be running reasonably easily so i am at present trying to stay away from cli and am trying to get to grips with the gui (lots of strange names for programs that i have yet to learn what they do), i realise that i will have to progress as i do intend to have this machine as my gateway/firewall eventually but at the moment will be happy if i can get used to it as an ordinary pc for surfing and generally wasting my time with..

i think that's about all for now but expect lots of what may be considered "silly" questions
Cheers

P.s.
sorry if i've posted this in the wrong place feel free to move if required

Welcome to LQ! Love your location BTW.

As this seems to be an introduction more than a question I'm going to move this thread to the into's forum.

cheers!

Jamie...
