Wink Just Hello

I am attempting to use and learn Linux. The last thing I had to do with Unix was about 12 years ago, so I've forgotten the basics. I still have my Unix System V Bible and have already found most of it is still applicable to Linux. Plus, Microsoft software documentation spoiled me.

So, I'll be asking for some very basic information and guidance.

I've already tried FreeBSD (I know, it's not really Linux), Mandrake and now Debian.

My goal is to learn enough to be able to set-up and use a Linux Web Server and Firewall/Gateway.

Please be patient when I ask questions, I'm not that young anymore.

About the "Thanks" button

I attempted to use the "Thanks" button and when I filled out the information it kept rejecting the reply as an "Invalid User or Password" problem.

Does that function require a different registration?

'Thanks' button points to Affero. It's a different site, not LQ. You need separate account on that site to use it.
