Smile Just an Intro, Greetings from NZ

Hello. My name is Fergus and I joined Linux Questions just today after having a not so warm welcome on Unix Stack Exchange so I decided to come here after hearing about it multiple times on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqR...bDkAFQnhw4pfXQ

I've recently gotten into Linux after hearing about it a lot and how its the 'master race' ( a joke.. i think :P .) I have always been interested in computers; I remember going onto my parents computer when I was 4ish and messing around seeing what it could do. I used to mess around on CMD even though I had no idea what I was doing at the time I felt like an expert. I used to 'Program' in batch (I know its bad but I was a 7) and would create simple login scripts pretending to be a 1337 H4X0R , haha.

So Earlier this year I started to find cool stuff about hacking/pen-testing on YouTube and was like "Damn, this is cool", I then decided to try out Kali on a recently acquired laptop for "school work." I'm now wanting to get into the info-sec line of work. I'm working on learning the ins and outs of bash and then I'll begin with Python to get an interpreted language for monotonous tasks and then when I've got a good grasp on that I'll learn C for creating whatever I want.

So yeah, that's me. If you read this, cool. If you didn't, that's cool as well

Thanks, Fergus

Hello and welcome to LQ.

Most folks on LQ are pretty friendly. Some might get quiet on some issues and a few distros. I think we have all left some other not so friendly place.
