From reading, this looks like a good place to seek answers!

I read the information by the acid_kewpie (what does this mean?)
and the nice introduction email that this forum sent with this link,
and just want to introduce myself. I'm mid 40's and used that other
operating System since version 1.0 and some DOS before that.
For about the last 7 years or so I've been building and repairing
computers. It started as a hobby, but I'm now able to do it all the
time because of the best form of advertising - "word of mouth."

After some things that happened in the last few months, in all good
conscience, it's no longer morally right or economically feasible to
use Windoze or support it. That chapter of life is over...soon!

At the moment I'm typing from my lappy while I install Slackware
version 10.0 to my workstation.

Not sure what it's going to take for me to get Windoze Free,
but whatever it takes - it's going to happen starting right now. Well,
this cfdisk program is waiting for me to get going on that new hard
drive over there, so here's to it...
