Joining to provide answer about serial numbers and sneep on Sun/Oracle machines

Hello -
I find it odd, but there are a lot of questions posted here at linuxquestions about Sun machines and Solaris.

Since my experience is primarily with those machines,
it is necessary to register here in order to help people with their questions.

Because I am the author of the "sneep" utility (which assists with finding, storing, and reporting serial numbers for Sun/Oracle machines) my main effort here will probably be to respond to questions related to serial number access.

Thank you all for sharing your expertise.

oracle, serial, solaris, sun
