Happy New Year. I'm making the transition from Windows to Linux.

if youre completely new to linux then there are two routes you could take - Ubuntu Linux or Slackware Linux. Ubuntu will ease the transition from windows, slackware will throw you in knee deep. depends on the type of user you are.
