I am new to

I have had a debian server running on a nubus and g3 beige for a number of years. No X server.

I have just upgraded to a "retasked" Compaq Proliant 400mhz server they threw in the garbage at work. With an X server. Trying to get it off of 800x600 to something with better resolution (having trouble).

I also have just recently retasked another PC with ubuntu... (WOW everything I like about debian and friendly) also with the same resolution problem.

I've been toying with openBSD but am having logistic trouble getting my data over onto FFS.

I have some experience on SUN Solaris 2.6.

My background is in Telephony, WAN and CATV.

Glad to be here hopefully I will be able to glean some knowledge by searching the threads!!!
