Introduction
 

Hello World!

I am just getting started in the linux world. I do have some Unix background, but for the last 10 years, I have been working with DOS and Windows. Right now, I am checking out several different flavors of linux. Ubuntu 5.10 is the one I am currently running. Right now, it's ok. I am having some issues in a few areas.

These areas are:
Connecting to my Windows network at the office from home. I think I have the VPN client running. But I cannot ping the network servers and the Terminal Server Client won't connect.

I cannot get MechWarrior Vengence installed. Wine is running. I seem to be missing the compressed audio driver MechWarrior is looking for.

I cannot get my USB flash drive working. That may be due to the fact that the drive is formatted NTFS.

All in all though, I am enjoying the new OS. And look forward to joining the linux community.
