Initial post, been member lurking for several years

This is my initial post although I have been a member for several years and a registered Linux user since the middle 90s. I dont know what my registered number is offhand but can look it up if it is of interest to anyone.
I am still a member although not active of the Suncoast Linux Users Group based in the Tampa Bay area(Florida) and am a member of several different Linux groups/sites.
The last active posting was when I was a user of Libranet and did post to that forum. The demise of Libranet left me as a pure Debian user, mostly sid or experimental, until just recently when I decided that I am after more stability and use rather than fun and testing/trying things.
I am currently running Suse 11.0 on the desktop and Suse 11.1 on the laptop. I reverted back. I was using Suse from before the version 6.0 was the "hottest" and weaned away after somewhere in the 8.6 or so to several different Debian based distros until Libranet and settled there for awhile.
I did try several different distros and Mandriva would also load on the Dell intel duo laptop but most other distros had problems of one sort or another like wireless connectivity or printer, etc. I wanted a load and go that would be stable and was able to auto update and still able to do the things I wanted. Mandriva left me with a "funny taste" and so once again I am a Suse user.
So although I have just been lurking I have been a Linux user and a member that has just decided to introduce and maybe become active once again.
So the old man says Hello to all!

Two posts in two years is not enough, IMHO If your other thread hasn't received any reply, you can add more info or new info to it, in a NEW post so that it gets a bump, and there is a chance someone might step out to help you, and if you have found a solution how about posting it there? Welcome to LQ.
