Thumbs up I have 'finally seen the light!'

Yes, I have seen the light that is the smiling face of the penguin (mostly). I have decided that micro$oft has probably gotten enough of my money, and I should save some for me!!
I do have to confess that I'm dual booting (XP & RH9, default is RH). I have some things (hardware) in XP that Linux can't see/use. A friend at work burned some disks and suggested I give it a try. (Smart choice!)

About me: Into computers for about 12 years now, all Windoze (until now )
I have for the past 7 years built my own, the current one is my 4th.
I don't "do" computers for a living, I work for a car dealer (parts). Computers are a 'hobby'.

My current system is:
P4 (2.4Ghz)
512Mhz of DDR (2700) ram
Nvidia GeForce 4
40gig drive (Windows)
80gig drive (Linux!!)
48x24x48 burner
DVD rom

I like the fact that RedHat was able to detect and install ALL my devices w/out my intervention.

Overall, I think I'm glad I made the switch! (now if I could only get Diablo II to run in Linux, I'd be set!)

Welcome to LQ.

Ain't Linux

I built mine to. Wish I had gotten another mobo though. NFORCE about sucks. NVIDIA good for video card but not for the mobo on board stuff. No sound.
