Talking I'm Aubrey Collins

I'm a truck driver and I like to tinker, sometimes, with Slackware. I'm no expert. So I'll have more questions than answers. I've just installed Slackware 14.2 Beta. Here's where I'm having trouble. Lilo needs editing to add the Windows Drive. Or I need to install GRUB. I don't care which, as long as I don't have to reinstall the whole thing to get it going. I'm having trouble with AMD Drivers, so X is a blank screen. I'll have to fix it from a command line. I have WiFi from the Network Manager in KDE, but only when I'm using KDE. And I'm not using KDE right now because x is broken. Lol. I'm not totally frustrated yet and I still have other computers that work, so I've got time to work on it, on the weekends.

Welcome to LQ, young trucker!

Don't get frustrated, embrace the Slack!

First, it would be helpful to know whether this is a UEFI boot, or BIOS. What version of Window$ might be a clue for some. Also some hardware info, just the basics - CPU, RAM, video adapter, model and mfgr of laptop or motherboard if you know them.

A guess on the lilo if it is BIOS boot, add these to your /etc/lilo.conf and run lilo again afterward:

Code:
other = /dev/sdxy (where x is the window$ drive and y is the partition, like /dev/sda1 would be a common one)
label = Window$
I am not a Window$, or AMD user so not much more help at the moment.

Good luck!
