I find it hard to believe that you were Googling and found this thread and said "Oh ... I'll toss my question in there"

Sorry you feel jaded or hit hard about it. If you noticed, people did offer some answers and we also offered ways to ask your question where you'd likely get better results.

Realize that you stomped on new user SpaceDonkey's thread and they're probably seeing these updates wondering "What in the world? ..."

So ... similar to what you're saying. "Thanks for being polite when entering a room." We gave you the benefit of the doubt, and you react by saying a nasty, sarcastic "Thanks for nothing!"

Jessie and Sid are from Debian that Mint is based on, sometimes you get a little RTM too.
