Wink Huh? Wuhut? Really?

Just got the P4 2.66 Hardy Heron running again. What is that you say. Well let us go back... Waayyy WuhAyyy back.
Am here to ask really stupid questions which will make me google distro vocabulary that will send me to other forums that will confuse me so I can come back here and ask more stupid questions so I can pick a better Linux distro for my upgraded RAM so I can google terminology in the answers to my stupid questions so I can end up at other forums that will confuse me so I can again return here to ask stupid questions.
Wow, that sounds so easy really.
Just make sure not to bore the Unix sages who have taught the Linux gurus.

If anything I will entertain all of you.

THX,
and my real name is Paul

Wink Oh Linux how we love thee.

After I join here, I think to find out my hardware.
Then went synaptic manager, terminal, trying all kinds of 'sudo' from the web. Then all the sudden update says hey buddy, new distribution release '10.04.3 LTS' is available. !!! update.
I tried to update for a day. Tried 8server/9/9server. Ubuntu server kept saying there is no longer the us.archive.older. etc...
Update for some reason says you want 8.04 to 10.04LTS, desktop to desktop. So now I am
Lucid Lynx. ahhahah I am well aware I cannot update to 10 if I haven't even gotten to 9 first. I am so far behind. Frack. Why I was denied older updates before is weird. Who cares now.
On a humorous note, without the web being as fast today, and running 8.04 there is NO way could have found all the help I did in 20 minutes.
Thanks guys.
Paul

Wink Yah I am Lucid, don't be jealous

AND, and , and
So now that I am a 'proper' 10.04.3 upgrade lets get some things straight.

I type $ sudo losetup /dev/loop0
loop: can't get info on device /dev/loop0: No such device or address

I am NOT Wubi! I was worried about what install of Heron I had. There is no fricking winndoze causing any possibilities for a headache.

Make fun all you want. Everyday things will get faster.
