Howdy, Howdy!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone here. I have been reading posts for awhile now (mostly trying to figure out all this linux stuff, lol). I have been fooling around with linux for about 2 years but up until now I hadn't really considered giving up my windows. I have always hated Microsoft and all they stand for but it is really hard to get away from their products when a large percentage of people use it.

I really want to learn Linux inside and out (like windows) so that I can completely change over. Linux has come a long way since I first used it, and I have been trying to convince everyone I know that it is better and will continue to get better while Microsoft will continue to be buggy, insecure, and expensive.

Glad to be here :)

Spot on!

You just get rid of Windows and you'll find out how good Linux can be. ;)

I agree. You will find alot of 'difficulties' and 'little annoyances' in the beginning. And you'll think: "Hah. This or that works better on windows, so I'm going to use it again."
But the fact is that you have to learn a little bit about linux before you can effectively use it.
Just use linux for everything. And if something doesn't work. Don't give up. Linux has a solution for nearly everything.
