I am, well, Ayatana (not real name). I am from India. I am a physics graduate and studying for my Ph.D. I am doing physics by day and math by night, with a very healthy seduction of computer science. I use Ubuntu as my daily driver and Slackware when I feel like Batman. And yes, my favorite superhero is Batman. I mostly use Linux for my school work and fun. I use the following packages regularly and they are awesome and you should look at them,
- R
- Julia
- SymPy
- ePiX
- PGF/TikZ
- Processing
Here are my affiliations:
- C. Not C++.
- Perl. Not Python.
- Haskell. Not LISP.
- Pepsi. Not Coke.
- Star Trek. Not Star Wars.
- Vi. Not Emacs.
- Firefox. Not Chrome.
- init scripts. Not SystemD.
- ALSA. Not PulseAudio.
- DPKG. Not RPM.
- Batman. Not Superman.
- Tizen. Not Android.
- DC. Not Marvel.
Let's get to know each other. What are your views? Am I being one of those grumpy old Linux users who wants to hold on to the old Unix philosophy?
