But then I still couldn't reply to the forum question - don't have enough privileges possibly. Only wanted to give the answer to someone's issue I found through another forum but have lost the will now!!

The requirement to make a first post before you can post a URL is one of our anti-spam measures. It's not foolproof, but we don't get hit too badly or too often.
