Mark,

You know it's not Holiday Inn anymore. During SARS last year it changed,
and there were rumors amongst the laowei that it was because SARS put
it out of business. Not true, though. HI demanded higher standards and
the locals wouldn't submit, so they pulled the franchise. It's now owned
outright by Sakura, so I guess it holds their name. Haven't really paid
attention, but they did pull all the HI signs and logos.

Kunming is a nice city. Great weather! Pretty technologically retarded, though.

Suowei,

I have a friend here who really wants to run Linux in English. I can't get
him to start with RedFlag to "learn Linux" and migrate later. I've sent him
your web address. Perhaps this will give him new excitement!

Hi Suowei!

Nice to see a chinese guy who uses linux!

In fact, I recently moved in a xiaoqu in Beijing and I have to go through a identification software to access Internet (doctorcom) and of course it's running under Windows...
Do you know how can I get ride of this and use my debian distrib to surf on the web?

Ni hao. SuoWei,

You might want to check this site. They have Slackware and some other
distros in Chinese and a forum.
