I've been a member for a while but this is my first post. I'm a relative Linux newbie and just wanted to say "Hi". Been dabbling with it since Ubuntu 9.10. Main OS was Win XP but I've decided to get serious and try to make a break with Win XP.

There were about a half dozen apps that I use in Windows that kept me from completely leaving XP including Autosketch, my weather station software, digital oscilloscope software, label printer software and a few others which I was unable to get to work using WINE.

I started multi-booting with Win XP/Ubuntu 10.04 and then 12.04.1 LTS

There are a few other details which I won't bore you with here.

Will be posting soon with some questions. It's great that there are sites like this around for folks like me.
