New to the site and have just skimmed around. Already, I'm utterly impressed. The amount of information and the professionalism is truly incredible, so thank you!!
I'm a Windows environment-puke, by trade.
I'm a contractor, working as a Systems and Server administrator for Windows XP/Server 2003... do a lot of NetAPP/ADIC fun stuff, etc.
Just built a home-use desktop, dual operating system. I've got Solaris 10 on one drive and Fedora 7 on the other. I've been playing around with Fedora for a while and love it... Don't have much Linux experience and very little programming or shell experience (just some minor stuff I did when I was a geeky teen, lol).
Using my new tower as my "Expand my Horizons" training! Fedora seems like a great way to make the transition between Windows and Linux... I've been able to "figure my way around" using the native file system.. NTFS-like.. just trying to determine what all the folders are, lol... thankfully, I have this site to help me along!
I really appreciate the information that you all contribute! You are already essential to the learning experience!
