hello world

Just checking in to say hello, been lurking a long time, gotten some useful information and help from this forum. I've been with slackware since the original downloads using ftp prior to Mozilla et al. Had a brief flirtation with Fedora, Ubuntu, now back with Slack. Dual boot with XP (family, work apps and linus unfriendly world ) I'll try to chip in if I've run into a similar problem before and can help

Cool! Welcome back! Slackware people get automatic esteem around here, even though there seems to be a large proportion of slackers on here.

back to slack

Yes, well, some more "automagic" distros are great when everything works, for that matter, so is windows or mac osx, but if they're all a bit opaque if you're doing something unusual... one of the reasons I got into linux to start out with... ultimately you can do anything if you try hard enough..
