Smile Hello to all my new friends in the Linux world!

Hello my name is Steven AKA AA7YL in the HAM Radio world. I recently made the move from MS Window to the Linux world for two reasons;

1. It seemed to take longer and longer for my windows laptop to boot up and get me to my HAM Radio programs to sign on and run my SDR programs like FLdigi and WSJTx. Knowing that both these programs were available in Linux I decided to give it a try.

2. The second reason is more economical than anything else. The reason my laptop was slowing down is that it is over 10 years old. It only has 2MB of memory a 1.6 GHz Intel processor and a 320GB of hard drive space. In its day it was the Cats Me-yow. But today it is called a Boat Anchor. So without forking out $500 bucks for a new laptop, Install Linux Mint on it and be able to use it for my HAM Radio computer for a few more years.

I am glad that I found the LinuxQuestions.org website and will try to understand what is being talked about and not sound like a complete idiot with my questions.
