Hello, Nice to meet everyone

First off:

It's nice to meet everyone. I have a little bit of familiarity with using linux as a tool (mostly when I have to extract data from Windows system's). My current endeavor is to become 80%-90% free from Windows on my own systems. Now that my circumstances permit, I would like to migrate out of the facet of an "end user" of linux and familiarize myself with the gears and cogs of this OS and experience it's capabilities.

My knowledge of technology, and commitment to further this knowledge has been galvanized by someone, or some company attempting to tell me what I can, and cannot do with what is mine (whether it be a phone, computer, etc.).

Personally, I use Linux for that reason and more so, the stabley it always offers. Glad you've had enough of M$, I'm glad I moved to Linux anyway. Found a good place for you to start http://www.tuxradar.com/content/how-...ultimate-guide

Best of luck, with your Linux journey! ;)

Hello and welcome to the forum. You're not alone, I'm sure many other members here are using Linux for the same reason. :)

Regards...
