Hello from Canada (eh?) ;)

Sayin hello like the email asked me to to

I'm from Alberta, Canada, I've absolutely never touched anything that ends with NIX in my life and I'm struggling. I would describe myself as a down-and-dirt power user, I like to get the most out of almost everything that I do. I tend to never capitalize and mostly put all dialogue and messages in IM format (read: UNformatted

I am currently doing webdesign and my only linux experience is shell access on my web account and that is the reason I am here. It seems the more I read about linux, the more i think i would have liked to become familiar or tear into it when i was a kid.

I can be found staring at my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A30 2.5 Celeron 512MB etc) most days and nights of the week. I work in PHP/MySQL, Flash Actionscript, HTML, JS etc (everything required for web design) but am more interested in areas of technology like wireless software development and communications. I have many projects; I think we all wanted to build 3D games or the next greatest application at some point. But for the most part, I just dive back and forth between my many facets, learning and soaking up all knowledge I possibly can in what seems more and more like a short lifetime. When I can (more lately than in my early career), I spend my time pouring over the forums I join trying to answer simple questions for people struggling to get his or her start in some new language or application. So many wonderful people have helped me along the way and to you all I say thank you immensely; I will spread the knowledge you have shared with me.

As I learn more and more I find that I am REALLY trying to slow in this busy world and try to enjoy what I do. I definately don't make the most money, (yes, I'm freelance) but the bills are paid, and money makes people do stupid things; just go live in the city, you'll see

Anyway, I grateful for the forum, and am looking forward to future discussions.

Cheers,
Paul
