Name is Rob from the U.K. , I have been very Interested in Linux for many years now, but have been afraid of making the leap from Bill Gates clutches but I think the time is right why should he have world domination I say "revolution"

As being new to linux , I would like to know if I can build a Media center running linux, I have Ebot system made by foxconn that uses a foxconn motherboard which uses SiS 661FX NB + SiS963 SB Chipset ,installed on the board is a Celeron 2Ghz,512mb DDR400,Nvidia GF4 Ti 4200 with TV out, onboard 5.1 Realtek AC`97 soundcard, Hauppauge Win-tv Nova s plus satellite card.

You might find that a distro that is devoted entirely to being a media center computer would be the easiest and best approach. I would recommend trying KnoppMyth.
