I have tried both XFCE and Mate and I really prefer Mate, but I know there are more XFCE users out there. So I was wondering do they know something I don't?
I personally have no opinion either way and suggest that if you are fine with Mate, then continue. You can try XFCE as a virtual machine and see what you think of it.
