Hello
Hello LQ I'm Steven. I am now 18 and I've been using Ubuntu for the past 8 years. However, I decide to quit the GUI interface and switch to Slackware to learn more about the mighty Linux system. I understand that it may be challenging:banghead::doh:, but hope we can all learn from each other!:hattip:

Ah, Dr Limpingstone I presume!

Hi Steven and welcome to LQ! :)

Thank you guys for your warm greetings and hahahahhhah that joke was funny :D :D limpingstone is just my code name in fact.
I wonder if this thread is a good place to chat with people about Linux. lolol |
I'd give it a start here, then ardvark etc can advise where to go.
A safer way to start, than my posting in Newbie: busybox == Slackware? :D Or lolol - command not found in *nix-General or [adjective witheld] General. What specific LinuxTopic would you like to 'chat' about? p.s. IF you can find an example of LQ Rule 0x0f (to put it eLeet-ly), in this Thread, you win a priceless hidden LQ link of my choice  (this, which possibly contains moreFAQinfo than the LQfaq) |

Anyone knows how to change the penguin and the operating system logo in the bottom-left corner of each message in a thread? It is very noticeable to me. :D

I know you can have the icon that displays the operating system removed (the one on the far left hand side,) is that what you're wanting? If so, click on "LQ UserCP" on the right hand side of this page, then click on "Edit Options" under "Settings and Options" on the left hand side, then under "Login and Privacy," look for "Show User Agent in Posts" and check "No." That should take care of it. :) To change the icon to show the Slackware icon (if that's what you're using,) you probably need to use a different browser. I have to do this when I want to display the Ubuntu icon. Concerning the penguin, I'm not sure whether you can remove that one or not. Regards... |
