Hello

Hello,
I am new to the linux world and just starting out over the last few months. I have come a decent way on my own with using google but now I am stuck with a few things. My real name is Tim im 31 and network engineer for a large ISP in the US. I am looking to make my job easier by making mass configuration change on our network by writting scripts opposed to doing it one router at a time. I experimented with Bash, Expect, Rancid and starting to learn toward python.

Welcome to the forums Tim!

One great forum for scripts and other similar questions would be the Programming forum.

One comment I tend to make is that people experimenting with scripts should keep handy a good regex reference.

I am not new to the Computer I have been on since 1972 but most of my time has been spent in DOS Basic and Unix
So I am just getting my feet wet with Slackware and I have downloaded slackware-14.2 BUT have no idea where to go from here.
And A great Big Hello

Hi...

Take a look at my second signature link below to see what hell is really like (and why Jesus came to die for us.) Michigan doesn't even come close!

Regards...

Red face oh you think?

The only reason I posted this is because this is an Intro Forum where we vet to know about the rest of the people here.
With that being said Read along and pay attention you might learn a thing or two..Like how to be non-judgmental

Oh and as far as Judge others you don't qualify and Jesus is not hiring either
