Have followed LQ for a number a couple of years, never posted before.

Have had two machines running linux. A desktop that I bought from Sams Club that had a version of Red Hat. Installed Mepis 6.0 on a Dell Inspiron 1100 in a dual boot with XP. Have not had a lot of problems until now. Have recently retired the desk top and obtained a generic 64 bit Intel motherboad with XP and installed Mepis 7.3 (special version to work with GForce video) dual boot. Having some network problems with the two linux systems.

Welcome to LQ, kentoddi. Networking in Linux is generally less painful than it used to be, so it is a little surprising that you are having issues. Anyway, welcome and good luck getting things corrected.
