Greetings from Japan!

Hi everybody, just got in here.

I own four PCs (three laptops and a desktop) and am getting increasingly dissatisfied with MS stuff. I will need help and advice from you on how to get Linux up and running on my systems. I live in the Kansai region of Japan (between Kobe and Osaka), and any contact from members living nearby will be very welcome.

Best regards to all,
Arturo.

No internet in Japan

Hello, I just found your post on this forum, and saw you live in Japan.
I just moved to Tokyo from Germany and brought mylaptop. I use both Windows XP and Linux Suse on it, and in Germany they both work perfectly fine.
Here I simply plug in the dsl cable as I do back home, and the Internet on MS works perfeclty well immediately. However with Linux Suse 10.3 no connection works. Seems the modem/router which gives this computer here an IP Number with microsoft, does not give the computer one with Linux....
Do you have any idea how to fix this? What is different about Linux in Japan?

Thanks, Goroku
