Greetings from a Bulgarian old-boy
Hi,
I am interested mainly in fast search techniques targeted on 20-30GB English texts. Sharing knowledge with others - a way to more-and-more faster code. Viva Linux. |
Hi and welcome to LQ

Hi Sanmayce, welcome to LQ! Enjoy the forums.
|
Thanks for 'welcome's,
I have read the post: "Please Read: Before Creating a New Thread/Posting in this Forum and all other Forums!" But it is hardly for me to accept that my Karp-Rabin 'strstr' C etude is not related with *NIX, it's quite the opposite. I agree that is your call, but my intention was to share with the *NIX community [as well] a faster than GNU C library 'strstr' function. Regards |

I recommend placing your query in the Programming forum with an appropriate title . A lot of the members do not have time to look at all the threads and only look at the titles to determine which they will read. This will give your post more exposure. A lot of the members do not have or take the time to look at all the new threads and only read the ones they are familiar with. |
Hi Sanmayce,
Your code thread was moved to the 'Programming' forum not because it was "non *nix", but because it is very much a programming-related thread, and programming per se is not OS-specific. The Programming forum here on LQ, despite its location in " > NON-*NIX > ", is for any programming type of threads, be they *NIX or non-*NIX. It's just not exclusively *nix-specific. If I do an LQ search for "karp-rabin" as any LQ member would if they were using *nix and looking for info on this subject, your thread comes up as the one and only ;) so it is easy to find; and we appreciate your having shared the info and link. Cheers, Sasha |
