hi

boot into suse.

open your file manager and navigate to

/boot/grub/menu.lst....stands for list not first 1st

post the contents of that file pls

2) leaping ahead...you need a menu item for windows or...unhide the hidden menu.

if you see hidden menu without a # symbol in front of it...use root powers to add an # symbol so menu remains visible=unhidden

eg if your menu.lst shows this
## hiddenmenu
# Hides the menu by default (press ESC to see the menu)
hiddenmenu

make it
#hiddenmenu

3) some distros have a nasty setting called
savedefault

it assumes you always go into menu item X and not want a choice

again use root powers to add # in front of that setting to make it
#savedefault

good luck

Thanks for help. In the end I reloaded openSUSE 11.1 and that solver the problem
