Yep that's right I'm just a small town country girl looking for big time worldly advice.

You know I feel like?, well I'm not sure even how I got here.
I'm akin to a little kitten that has it's eyes shut to the world of linux and needs instructions on how to even open them. I'm here because, due to the enthusiasm of my other half, we have a dual boot system on my computer (XP and Mandrake 9.1)and I don't know a dern thing about it. Soooo, hardy ha ha. Paaleasee I'm hoping there is gonna be some kind and tolerant folk out there, that will have the patience of saint newbie himself and guide me through the tangle of computer whiping, desktop banging and keyboard chucking that I know I'm gonna be experiencing. So ummm hello and I guess I'll see u all in the newbie room.;)

Hi there' We all newbies here really.
You have to think about: What your trying to do? What are you trying to accomplish? Getting email? Configuring the box for serving a webpage? After you get there you can start getting stuff done' by launching and/or installing whatever apps you may need from day to day' Were are you at right now? "computer whiping, desktop banging" is kinda a wide subject'
