Climbing the learning curve
Shouting out to LQ-ers!

My second post to LQ; first was about installing via .bin files. Yes I read three or four threads, and yes I still was not able to resolve it, so I posted.

But I have high hopes of learning. And I've got a good LUG in Madison, Wisconsin. Maybe someday I can help others.

Strange mix of people, this Linux thing. Everyone from "wow, it's free, I'll try it" to people who dream in command lines. I'm somewhere in between. I go back to the last gasp of punch cards. I recently got a laptop after working with decent desktops at work, and a Pentium 3 box at home. All in all, I feel ready to learn, while knowing that I'm not a very methodical person, or at least not efficient about trouble-shooting.

Happy computing,

A bit of encouragement..., the learning curve is steep, but not very long.
