Wink CISSP student - ready to embrace Linux!

Hello shadies and mentalmen! :-D

I am currently making the career transition into IT security and understand that Linux (and it's historical underpinnings) drive a great deal of accreditation, testing and certification in the corporate world.

In the hopes of being a new but progressing professional I am ready to experiment with a few distros and build my knowledge.

I am not afraid of the command line and have some limited programming experience (but no Python or Perl). I have in my arsenal a copy of Linux Format with a Sabayon cover disc, a copy of Master Linux Now! magazine and the tinterweb...as well as you fine people.

Apart from that I plan to be a regular on these forums and hope to dual boot a different distro on each of the systems below so I can hack, experiment, play and ultimately learn more about the GNU/Linux platform. Apart from the GNU/Linux debate - it appears that thorny issue will last longer than the regime of President Assad ;-)

Thanks for reading,

Zen
