boo. (obligatory 1st post, so can incl url in comment elsewhere.)

Intro?
I'm generally interested in this usage: very flexible drag n drop research, notes. So I hope to Find the best desktop/gui/filemgr, editor (w/ flex syntax-formatting), 7zip (or similar convenient compressed blobmaker), etc. (I already know there's a 7zip "port"/whatever to nx.)
crimson editor is almost always up while I use this computer.. um.. it's difficult to detail the strengths of editor vs editor... , so that's all to say about editors, but maybe someone is familiar with crimson's advantages, and knows the more similar among nx-based editors?

IME, firefox is the most convenient/usable of browsers, though kmeleon is quite amazing for usability vs resource use. maxthon is good (as of early 2007, but I haven't been using it since). I expect I'll be using firefox on whatever distro, desktop,gui,whatmacallit i settle for.

I googled the drag n drop thing last year, but didn't find enough info. now i'm finding encouraging info, and noticing that some was posted in 2006.

I'm hoping to use nx this way on a frankensteined machine (well under 1 ghz) while i do 3d on a win machine completely disconn from lan & net, with minimal services and av/etc shutoff.

I've already used some liveCDs (in 2007. dynebolic ran best), but paranoid about multiboots, and the parallel computer (scenario described previous para) provides max hardware avail for 3d work.

{joke aura="bland" flavor="awful"}I'm sure this is very interesting.. so I'll try to get back soon to post color vids of my hemorrhoids operations.{/joke}
