Cool Been investigating for quite a while. Decided to get involved.

Many friends and relatives are looking to an alternative to the latest Micro Softy disaster otherwise known as a Vista with no vision. I have helped some to install their old XP system as a dual boot alternative to Vista. Others have had me install open SUSE or other flavors of Linux in dual boot mode. I still have problems with setting up passwords etc as I keep poor notes as to what I used. I am looking at the Gentoo Beta 3 release and finding some of the same problems noted on that thread.

My box: MachSpeed P4MSD-800
Pentium D 3GHZ
2GB PC3200 memory
XP-Pro SP2 + Ubuntu Ultimate Edition 1.8
