Aloha - I'm psychorabbit (aka ken.chong), named after my pet bunny. It knows Kung Fu and will use it if you stick your hand in the cage. To feed it, we have to throw the food in and slam the door shut.

Anyways, I'm in Hawaii.
Got a an old Dell with Slackware installed. Have no clue what to do with it or what the next step is. A complete novice but willing to make an effort. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to LQ, yes and one of the suggestions is to read the articles at this link to start with http://www.linux.org/ . It has an article I used called Linux 101. Linux is fun and takes a lot of patience if you are a novice which I was.

Also check out the Wiki at this site.

Welcome to LQ!

You can <Linux> Google up many Slackware helpful sites, so I wont' bother with that. There are also a bunch of links somewhere in the Wiki here at LQ.

Beyond that I'd recommend Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide.
