Talking Addressing my commercial dependency!!!

so i hacked an ms system to the point where i can't afford to purchase anymore commercial products and am now look for advice as to which Linux environment would be best for a 42 year old shifting careers into the IT Sector. I'm currently studying for my A+ certificate and am aiming for Linux+ and Security stream. I'm fairly ambitious and find myself coming to terms with being bored with shallow GUI's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
THX!

Welcome to Linux Questions!

Debian and Fedora are good Linux distro's. A look in distrowatch website may provide more help.

After you pick a distro. Some signatures of members here and other site links have some good info on what you are pursuing.

Just look at the right side bar and top toolbar on this site to get a good idea.

I am just a scooter tramp with no ties to the IT business at all.
