Adding a firewall to Ubuntu 8.0.4.1

Hi,
New to Ubuntu and wanted to enable firewall. Don't understand the answers I got from Ubuntu help. Cannot find a "firestater" wizard on my
system drop-down. How do you enable the firewall, in layman's terms.

Have you installed Firestarter in the first place?

Other than that Gutsy comes with ufw (Uncomplicated Firewall). In terminal:

sudo ufw enable

Read man page on how to add rules:

man ufw
