Absolute Newbie

Hi everybody,

I am not only a newbie in this forum but also a newpie to linux in any form...well...apart from open office and 7-zip a Newbie to open source.

Hail from South Africa - the country of prehistoric PCs - which still might have life in them if treated nicely.

So brace yourself for all these irritating newbie questions which have been answered oh so often and get asked again with teriple sbelink, because the search engine just doesn't work the way it should...

Thank you for this forum and everybody willing to share his/her knowledge with us uninitiated.
