This is my first post about technical know how I am new to linux but am willing to learn. Iam trying to install clipgrab on ubunto 20.04 lts with no avail.its been 3 days of research and everything I saw and tried fail.Could one of you geniuses lead me to victory and from this headache of trial and error. Thank you for your time and effort
the default $EDITOR in most cases will be vi. Particularly if you'll attempt sudoedit command. Better learn it now than be sorry...
Actually a lot of distros use nano as their default system editor these days precisely because vi is so offputting to newbies.
OP, how are you trying to install clipgrab? The best way to install anything in whatever distro is to use your built-in package manager. Only if it isn't available from the official repositories (and the Ubuntu ones are huge) should you try anything else, because you can seriously mess up your system by installing random software on it.

Thanks for your input and knowledge now I don't feel hopeless or helpless when it comes to learning linux. Here is some of the things I've tried add -apt-repository ppa: clipgrab-team/ppa ,sudo apt install ffmpeg, sudo apt-get install libqtwebkit4 ffmeg, add clipgrab to software source in ubuntu software center, and keep getting does not have a release file and many more failure reports. ppa does not support focal. My builted in package manager I will locate and try from here first.
