A need for info, golly, i still have my IBM PC Junior

Self taught from dos to graphic design on MS desktops. i was thrusted into a netbook for Christmas, with no physical internet connection or hard drive. Not sure of what version of Linux I have or thinking that the Bon Echo (Moxilla) browser was something Linux came up with because it is a National park near Ottawa. Wondering if the .exe was the extension for opening the app for a recently downloaded version of Skype. I have so far downloaded Ubuntu (sp?), debian and another one. Still do not have Skype. Tired of arguing with my mobile phone company by text about using my S60 Nokia as a modem with only a browsing plan.
So, hi you all! You have to start somewhere, right?

RJ

Executables for Linux do not have an .exe extension.
