Question A Friendly Hello

Just joined this evening. Heard how Linux
is more pleasant to work with than Microsoft's
stuff once I learn from everyone's help here
how to understand Linux and it's various
distributions.

One question I have is...Is there a Linux program for
older dual processor motherboards?

Most all Linux distributions can handle that.

You can use any distro such as CentOS/Fedora/Ubuntu all of them dual CPU capable just download the i386 version not the x86_64 version.

I suggest to you CentOS for server and Fedora/Ubuntu for Desktop.

Unfortunately the new Fedora has got some issues such us Network-Manager and alsa-sound-mixer problem. (I think the updates already resolved this issues)

But anyway I would stick RedHat distros either way because I know them better than Ubuntu/Debian.

I use myself CentOS because it is rock stable distro and based on RedHat rpms

There you go the CentOS mirrors to download the disk(s): http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/isos/ (Chose the i386 for old HW just few mirror has got the full DVD mostly has just torrent for DVD)

That helps.....Thanks!
Also, which Linux OS would be good for
audio video editing, and are there any
Linux based audio video editing software
to use?

I'm just going to jump in with all paws
on this. Thank you for steering me in a
helpful direction.
