You can use any distro such as CentOS/Fedora/Ubuntu all of them dual CPU capable just download the i386 version not the x86_64 version.
I suggest to you CentOS for server and Fedora/Ubuntu for Desktop.
Unfortunately the new Fedora has got some issues such us Network-Manager and alsa-sound-mixer problem. (I think the updates already resolved this issues)
But anyway I would stick RedHat distros either way because I know them better than Ubuntu/Debian.
I use myself CentOS because it is rock stable distro and based on RedHat rpms
There you go the CentOS mirrors to download the disk(s):
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/isos/ (Chose the i386 for old HW just few mirror has got the full DVD mostly has just torrent for DVD)
